New patient and family resource area at Ross Memorial

You’ve just received your diagnosis. The doctor explained what it meant, but the more you think about it, the more questions you have.
A new space in the upper level of the Ross Memorial Hospital’s main lobby will help patients and their loved ones to look up current information on health-related topics. It will open Sept. 11 with a public launch.
The Patient & Family Resource Area is equipped with two computers that provide links to trusted, evidence-based medical resources. There are also materials available about the Hospital and community programs. The Patient & Family Resource Area is available to the public day and night.

Roderick Benns grew up in Lindsay's east ward. In the 1990s he won a first-place national newspaper award through the Canadian Community of Newspapers Association in the category 'Reporter Initiative.' He has interviewed former Prime Ministers of Canada, Cabinet Ministers, Senators, and Mayors across Canada and had written op-eds for the country's major newspapers. Roderick is also the author of several books, including one on Basic Income. A father of two, he returned to his hometown in 2017 to start The Lindsay Advocate magazine and has since grown Fireside Publishing House into a multimedia enterprise.
