The official ground-breaking ceremony was recently held to launch a retirement home in Lindsay at 12 Thornhill Road. It’s the third retirement home under the Bloom banner in Ontario.

Jack Eisenberger, president of Fieldgate Developments, Philippe Krivicky, president of the real estate development and construction division of Cogir Real Estate and Benjamin Demelin, regional director, joined Kawartha Lakes Mayor Andy Letham for the ceremony.

“We are delighted to officially mark the start of construction of this third Bloom retirement home,” said Krivicy in a media release. “This new type of senior housing features living environments suited to the changing needs of the region’s retirees who wish to enjoy life in safe surroundings and at the same time appreciate all the services and retail the Lindsay region has to offer. Bloom is an ‘À la Carte’ concept, allowing residents to choose the services they wish to have, suitable to their needs.”

Bloom Lindsay is a joint Fieldgate and Cogir Real Estate development. In addition to the home’s 221 contemporary and functional living suites (122 senior apartments, 75 independent living apartments and 24 assisted living suites), the residents will have access to a swimming pool, a gym and yoga room, a library, a movie theatre, a multi-service centre, exclusive to Bloom, a barbecue “and a magnificent outdoor greens area, to name just a few of the benefits,” according to the release.
