Gordon Yacht Harbour recently had a grand opening for their new bar and restaurant The Yacht Club, located in Bobcaygeon. 

Located on the waterway, boaters can now dock their boats and enjoy a meal. 

The restaurant has been open for about a month, and with no advertising customers have been coming in through word of mouth. “We run at about 80 to 90 per cent locals as opposed to tourists,” said Carlo Allegri, who along with his wife Angel, took over the business in 2024. 

“It’s been pretty humbling, the community response we’ve had,” Carlo said. Since opening they’ve had a steady influx of customers.

Everything is made in-house and only fresh ingredients are used. While some have been asking if they plan to offer items like chicken wings, they’re adamant that no deep fryer will ever be installed. With boaters just feet away from the kitchen, they made the decision that they didn’t want the smell of deep fryers and oil to be what customers take away from their experience. 

The couple wanted to bring all the things they liked from other dining experiences to The Yacht Harbour, including happy hour seven days a week, and frequent events. Currently they have live music on Sundays, trivia on Mondays, and Wednesdays alternate between karaoke and open-mic nights. 

“It’s pretty humbling to have a vision, create something, and have it come to life with people’s energy,” Carlo said. 

The space can also be used for business functions, with some employee appreciation events and presentations being hosted already. The couple are happy to be a place residents, tourists, and other businesses can visit. “It’s pretty cool that we’re, in many ways, able to give back to the community,” Carlo said. 

Currently the restaurant is seasonal, and weather permitting they plan to remain open until Oct. 31.
