Women in Business Profile: Joey Henderson

Joey Henderson grew up in Kawartha Lakes, having lived here since she was four years old.

After she began practicing yoga just once a week she slowly began to notice a great deal of benefits. This positively affected all of her relationships and even her overall view on life. That’s when she decided to take her Yoga Teacher Training for personal reasons – but she quickly developed a passion to share yoga with others.

Joey purchased the Yoga Loft in January 2012, after it had been open for about two years.

“I love the community we have built here in Kawartha Lakes. I feel especially grateful for the opportunity to hear people’s individual stories, of both love and hardships,” she says.

Experiencing those one-on-one human connections — especially in this day and age of so much disconnect with social media – is humbling, she says.
