Wellington Street Bridge reopens
The Wellington Street Bridge, located between Lindsay Street and William Street in Lindsay, has now re-opened, allowing access for both east bound and west bound traffic. The bridge was closed down earlier this year for rehabilitation due to required infrastructure repair and upgrades.
“We are extremely grateful for the community’s patience during the construction period,” commented Juan Rojas, Director of Engineering for Kawartha Lakes. “We know large projects such as bridge rehabilitation can cause disruptions such as traffic flow and congestion, but the work was necessary to ensure the safety and maintenance of this important infrastructure for our residents.”
During the construction period, lane modifications were also put in place on Lindsay Street North between Queen Street and Kent Street to help alleviate traffic delays. The current line paintings will remain in place until 2020 as Lindsay Street North will be undergoing reconstruction.
