Viral social media post concerns parents

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service has been contacted overnight by two separate concerned citizens regarding threats of a school shooting that had circulated via the social media app, Snapchat.
Through investigation it was discovered that the Snapchat video had made its way to Kawartha Lakes from an incident stemming in Missouri, U.S.A where three youths were arrested in connection to the threat.
The social media post threatens a school shooting to occur at “Central High School.”
The post is now spreading nationwide here, causing concern in cities that have a school with “Central” in the name. There is no threat to public safety locally.
