Two charged in separation battle
A man and woman have both been charged after discussions over a pending separation got out of hand.
Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted recently after a telephone was broken when a woman attempted to call 911. When police arrived, it was learned that the man and woman were involved in discussions over a pending separation.
The man got upset and had entered the family home, followed by the woman. While arguing over a set of keys, the woman attempted to call the police and the man grabbed her phone and bent it, breaking the screen.
The woman then used the home phone to call 911. As the investigation progressed, it was learned that another argument had occurred between the couple a day earlier, where the female had assaulted the male while arguing over family court papers.
A 32-year-old man has been charged with mischief under $5000.00, and the 30-year-old woman has been charged with assault and failing to comply with a probation order. Both parties will appear in the Lindsay Court of Justice on Dec. 21.
