Triumphant return of Lindsay Agricultural Society Craft Market & Gift Show celebrates tradition and modernity
The Lindsay Agricultural Society (LAS) is delighted to announce the resounding success of the LAS Craft Market & Gift Show, which took place on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. This event marked a triumphant return after a three-year hiatus and witnessed an overwhelming response from the community.
The show was a vibrant showcase of local creativity and craftsmanship, featuring over 35 exceptional vendors. Held at the Lindsay Fairgrounds, the event attracted an attendance of over 650 enthusiastic guests throughout the day. The diversity of vendors highlighted a fusion of cherished traditions and contemporary elements, creating an event that resonated with visitors of all ages.
The show’s hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. allowed visitors ample time to explore the wide array of unique and handcrafted goods on display. From permanent jewelry vendors to freeze-dried candy creators, fresh-cut flower specialists, and innovative artists, the show captured the rich tapestry of talents within the local community.
The success of the event holds great significance for the LAS, a not-for-profit and registered charity dedicated to enriching the community. The proceeds from the show contribute directly to the LAS’s ongoing efforts to support local agriculture, education, and community development, and maintain the beloved Lindsay Fairgrounds. The overwhelming turnout and positive response from attendees reaffirm the importance of such events in bringing people together and creating a lasting impact.
A heartfelt acknowledgment goes out to the dedicated LAS kitchen volunteers, led by the exceptional Suzanne Barker. Their tireless efforts ensured that attendees, staff, volunteers, and vendors were well-nourished throughout the day. The LAS kitchen served delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, adding a delectable dimension to the event experience.
“The LAS is excited to have the Craft Market & Gift Show return,” said Barker, who also served as the vendor show committee chair. “We were thrilled at the number of vendors, volunteers, and visitors that attended that day. There were lots of different items that could be purchased from the vendors. Next year it can only get better!”
“We are thrilled to see the LAS Craft Market & Gift Show return and be such a success,” said Lindsay Agricultural Society president, Bev Fisher, in expressing her excitement about the event’s return. “The support of our visitors, volunteers, and vendors showcases the impact of the Lindsay Agricultural Society in our community.”
