Three residents at Pinecrest Nursing Home passed away yesterday. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the Bobcaygeon long-term care home now stands at 26.

“I want to thank our front-line staff for their continued dedication to our residents while they themselves grapple with these deaths. Pinecrest is a family in itself made up of the residents, their families, our staff, and the community. This is not an easy time for us but we are committed to putting the care and comfort of our residents first,” say Mary Carr, administrator.

She says they continue to work with public health authorities and the Ministry of Health to carefully monitor the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure all necessary steps and protocols have been implemented.

“We’re engaging with public health authorities, our Director of Care, and with our Medical Directors to ensure we comply with all recommendations and directives set out by the provincial and local public health authorities.”

Carr says staff and families are “touched by the continued support from the community.”

“It is with this support that our staff and the affected families will get through this difficult time.”
