Soupfest is back for another year, bigger and better

By Lindsay Advocate

Formerly Lindsay Soupfest, this annual event is now Kawartha Lakes Soupfest. It will be held February 22 from 11 am until 2 pm at the Lindsay Armoury.
Soupfest is expanding to include more participants from all over Kawartha Lakes. Organizers hope to have as many as 20 area restaurants and caterers offering up their best soups for guests to enjoy. As always, guests and celebrity judges will vote for their favourites and awards will be presented to the winning businesses.
Brand new for this year is the addition of Kawartha Kids Got Talent as the entertainment.  In an effort to showcase local youth performers event organizers are working with the Boys and Girls Club to find the best local youth musical talent that will entertain on stage during Soupfest.
Local youth (up to age 21) are invited to audition on January 14 from 3:30 pm at the Boys and Girls Club and 10 acts will be selected to perform at the event. Instruments and sound equipment can be provided.
