Business owners: Small Business Week 2019 has it all
Small Business Week 2019, which runs from Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25, has something for every business owner with eight events scheduled throughout Kawartha Lakes.
The week kicks off on Monday at 9 am with Kawartha Lakes Small Business Conference hosted by Strike Point Bowling Center, Optimize Wellness Solutions and KLSBEC.
On Tuesday, activities start at 8:30 am with Maximizing the Value of Your Business and Preserving Your Family Wealth hosted by BDO Canada LLP at the Days Inn and Suites in Lindsay. Then at 6:30 pm at the Fenelon Falls Curling Club the Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce hosts Labour Force: Attracting and Keeping Employees featuring a panel of industry experts.
Wednesday, October 23 features the 2019 Fall Accessibility Forum: Accessible Education Towards Accessible Employment hosted by the City of Kawartha Lakes and Fleming College and will be held at Fleming’s Frost Campus in Lindsay. This daylong event welcomes the Honourable David C. Onley as the keynote speaker.
The very popular Employment Law Seminar hosted and taking place at VCCS Employment Services at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. Mark Mason, Barrister & Solicitor, Hicks Morley will be covering topics including: Seasonal, Contract/Temporary Workers, Bullying/Harassment in the Workplace and much more!
Also on Wednesday evening at Kawartha Coffee Company, the Bobcaygeon Chamber of Commerce and Impact 32 will be hosting a Small Business Week Networking session starting at 6:30 pm.
The Lindsay and District Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual Small Business Week Breakfast on Thursday morning at the Admiral Inn starting at 7:30 am. New this year, there will be a business expo with display tables featuring local businesses. Cari Tracy, Wendy Short and Anthony Kellner of BMO will be presenting “Growing the Good in Business & Life”
Small Business Week wraps up on Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 am with Innovation Day at the Lindsay Golf and Country Club. The morning will begin with a presentation from BDC on “Showcasing the people behind the business” followed with a luncheon and the 2019 Innovation Awards ceremony.
