Ruralwave, a well-known rural broadband company in Kawartha Lakes, announced the completion of their “Fibre To The Home (FTTH)” project for more than 100 households and businesses in Scugog Point.

“Everyone who wants high speed Internet in Scugog Point can now get it,’” said Ruralwave’s founder and operations manager, Dan Risebrough Barnes.

Ruralwave broke ground in September 2019. Since then, five local employees have connected over 20 kilometres of fibre cables throughout this community in the Township of Scugog within the Regional Municipality of Durham.

Ruralwave offers five residential and business FibreNet Internet plans ranging from 25MB/s download speed up to 1GB/s download speed:
•    FibreNet 25
•    FibreNet 50
•    FibreNet 100
•    FibreNet 250
•    FibreNet 1GIG

All FibreNet Internet plans from Ruralwave include unlimited data, something that they introduced this spring when so many customers began working from home, and they have decided to continue to offer this at no additional cost.

Contracts are not required to sign up for fibre internet, however, for customers who want to guarantee no price increases, they can sign up for a “Rate Saver Plan.”
