Public meeting: Proposed development charges

The municipality is undertaking the process to replace By-Law 2015-224 (A By-Law to Impose Development Charges in the City of Kawartha Lakes). The proposed development charges by-law and its underlying background study, prepared by Watson and Associates, has been published under the major projects section of our website.

In accordance with the Development Charges Act, the Council of the City will hold a public meeting on the documents as follows:

When: 10 am on November 5.
Where: Council Chambers at City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay.

The public meeting will include presentations by staff, the Development Charges Task Force and Watson and Associates. Regarding the development charges background study and proposed development charges by-law, any person may provide a written submission to Council in advance of the public meeting, and or, make an oral representation to Council during the public meeting.

In order to be included on the agenda for the public meeting, written submissions must be received by the City Clerk’s Office no later than 4 pm on November 1. The new development charges by-law is targeted for enactment on December 10, 2019 and for coming into force on January 1, 2020.
