Obituary For John Arthur Hennekam

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Hennekam (affectionately known as Big O) on October 23, 2025 in his eightieth year.

Devoted and loyal Husband to Mary for 54 years. Loving and cherished Father to Johnny Hennekam (Tracy), Debbie Ahern (David) and Michael Hennekam (Kim). Proud Poppa to Nicholas, Paige, Danielle, Graham, Taylor and Troy.

Dad is survived by Brothers Jim and Jordy and Sister Jennifer and was preceded in death by his Parents John and Sally Hennekam as well as Brother Jeffrey and Sister Joan.

Dad was known for his gentle demeanour, quick wit and his way with words. He was an avid sports fan, notably hockey and baseball. He taught us the value of hard work, always working tirelessly to ensure his family had everything we needed.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Pinecrest Nursing Home where Dad resided for the past three and a half years.

We will miss you forever Dad.

Cremation has taken place.
