Obituaries

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Robert Hopkins on Thursday, November 27, 2025, surrounded by love.

Jim was the eldest and beloved son of Alma Hopkins (Sheehey) and Robert Hopkins (predeceased) of Argyle. Loving brother to Deborah Beisel of Bolsover, Garry Hopkins of Argyle and Donna Perry (Bill) of Sebright.

Cherished uncle to Stephanie Perry (Justin) and Samantha Kingsbury (Adam) and special great-uncle to Colton, Hudson, and Winston whom he loved dearly.

A dear uncle to Shon Beisel (predeceased), William Beisel and great-uncle to Nero (Lydia) with whom he shared meaningful bonds during their younger years.

Jim will be remembered for living a simple, honest life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, finding peace in hunting and fishing, and took pride in fixing vehicles. He was always willing to lend a hand to family or friends in need, generously giving his time and skills to help others.

He will be missed by his great friends Gord Mitchell of Beaverton and Barb Robinson of Oshawa, who brought joy, companionship, and support into his life. Also remembered by many cousins, neighbours and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:.00 pm at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 54 Bolsover Road, Bolsover, Ont. Interment St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Bolsover.

As an expression of sympathy and in Jim’s memory, the family would greatly appreciate non-perishable food items or a monetary donation to the Woodville / Eldon Food Bank which will be accepted at the door.
