Obituary For Bruce Edward Peck

It is with profound love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Edward Peck on December 27, 2025, at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, surrounded by the love of his family. Bruce was born on June 15, 1947, in Scarborough, ON, and was the beloved husband for 54 years, of Debbie Peck (nee Lade).

Bruce was the youngest son of the late George and Thelma Peck of Scarborough, ON. Brother of Robert Peck (Linda), and the late George Peck (Cheryl). Cherished father of Kim Peck, Erin Jenkins (Richard), and Mathew Peck (Lisa). Proud Grandpa of his much-loved grandsons, Alex and Mason Jenkins.

Brother-in-law of Alice DeLaPlante, Bento and Jane Nogueira, Vickie Schuett, Jim Lade, Joe Lade (Diana), Carole and Randy Wardell, and Don Harris. Predeceased by his brother-in-law and partner in crime, Tom Schuett. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Growing up, Bruce loved playing hockey and coaching Mathew at the Lindsay arena in the1980’s, and had a lifelong passion for the Toronto sports teams. A talented musician and natural entertainer, Bruce performed on stage for many years. He was dedicated to service, working and volunteering with organizations such as the Optimist Club, Lindsay Little Theatre, Retired Teachers of Ontario, Crimestoppers, and the Children’s Aid Society. He and Debbie graduated from Toronto Teacher’s College in 1971 and Bruce enjoyed a lengthy career as both a teacher and principal. In their retirement Bruce and Debbie took pleasure in visiting friends and family near and far and travelling abroad. A special memory for both was an anniversary cruise on the Rhine and later visiting Juno Beach and the Canadian cemeteries in France.

A private family service was held at the Mackey Funeral Home. Friends were invited to join the family to celebrate Bruce at Celebrations Lindsay, on January 3rd 2026.

Bruce’s family would like to thank the staff of the Ross Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Ross Memorial Hospital Critical Care Program or the Kawartha Lakes Food Source, online or by cheque through the Mackey Funeral Home.
