Obituaries

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister Barbara on December 18th 2025 peacefully, in Bowmanville Hospital surrounded be her family. Barbara, in her 78th year was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Conkie, her son David, parents Mildred and Jack Healey and sister Jackie Hawkins, (Bill).

She is survived by daughter Jennifer, brother Paul Healey (Donna) brother Michael Healey, (Susan) grandchildren Sierra Best, Mackenzie Best , Curtis Best, and nephews Jason Hawkins, (Melanie) Ryan Healey, (Michelle) Sean Healey and niece Karen Patterson, (Greg). Sadly missed by many grand nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Lovingly remembered by the Conkie family, who so graciously welcomed Barbara as Ron's wife. The family would especially like to thank life-long friends Beryl and Fred Fry for their exceptional support and kindness. We would also like to thank Mackenzie Best, and Barbara's in-laws Lila, Bob, Cathie and Stephanie Conkie for keeping the family informed, the numerous visits to various hospitals, and the loving support of our sister.

A private family burial service will be held in the spring.

A celebration of life will be held at the Lindsay Legion (12 York street) In the Vimy Room from 1-4 P.M. February 7th 2026.
