New Monthly Community Care Diners Club in Fenelon Falls
Each week, dozens of older adults in Fenelon Falls enjoy good food and good company at the Diners Club seniors luncheon presented by Community Care.
Those events are held on Tuesdays at 70 Murray St., in the Fenelon Area Independent Living Association dining room. Now, in addition to the Tuesday noon luncheons, Community Care has launched a monthly Diners Club at the nearby Fenelon Falls Senior Citizens Club (58 Murray St.).
The luncheons will be held on the first Wednesday of the month at noon.
“We’re excited to be partnering with the Senior Citizens Club to present this monthly Diners Club,” says Kerri Daley, Home Support Services Manager with the Community Care Health and Care Network.
“It’s a wonderful collaboration, as there are already afternoon programs hosted by the club, so people can consider coming for lunch and staying for those activities.” Community Care’s popular SAGES exercises for seniors also takes place in the morning on Wednesdays at the club.
The luncheons focus on helping seniors stay connected and provide opportunities to share a hot meal, entertainment and health promotion/wellness presentations. Meals include an entree, beverage and dessert and are prepared in the Community Care kitchen facilities by staff and volunteers. Registrations in advance are appreciated.
Community Care Diners Club luncheons are presented weekly or monthly at 10 different locations throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes. The full schedule and more information about Diners Clubs is posted on the Community Care website at www.ccckl.ca/services/nutrition/community-dining/.
