Recently, Gail Neiman and Larry Franks of Fowlers Corners and District Lions Club visited Five Counties Children’s Centre for a formal cheque presentation in support of Five Counties’ therapy garden program.

The Fowlers Corners and District Lions Club has been long time supporters of Five Counties and this latest gift of $6,610 has brought the total amount donated by the Lions Club to $100,000.

The recent donation will go towards exercise and sports equipment.

“We are very excited about the new equipment,” says Marika Beaumont, Five Counties Children’s Centre program manager.

“Kids like to be outside and this will let them give them the opportunity to engage in more fun, sports activities while also improving speech, fine and gross motor skills,” Beaumont continues. “Additionally, we hope this will help change the perception that therapy is something that happens in a room in formal, indoor environment. Therapy can be fun!”

“The Fowlers Corners Lions Club is pleased to be able to provide funds to purchase the outdoor equipment for Five Counties Children’s Centre’s Therapy Garden,” says Gail Neiman, Fowlers Corners Lions Club president. “2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone, and we commend Five Counties in their efforts to offer new and innovative therapy services, and we are excited to be able to assist the staff and clients.”
