Lindsay man arrested for an early morning assault

On Tuesday March 27th between 2-3 am a man was travelling on a foot-path in the area of Lindsay Street south in Lindsay.

Without warning, a male suspect approached and punched the man in the face, knocking him to the ground.

As he lay on the ground, the man was able to recognize the suspect who struck him.

The male victim attended a local hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries, and then reported the incident to the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service.

On Wednesday March 28 the male suspect responsible for this assault was located and arrested at a Lindsay residence.

Charged with one count of assault is 29-year-old Randy Laughlin of Lindsay.

The accused will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 3.
