Lift Lord Stanley’s cup in Lindsay on Sunday

By Lindsay Advocate

The Stanley Cup stops at the Victoria Park Armoury this Sunday, Jan. 21.

Everyone is welcome to stop by, from 11 am until 4 p.m., and admission is free.

Lift the cup, get your photo taken with it, and check out the display of other major trophies, interactive exhibits, art, photos, videos, and more.

As The Canadian Encyclopedia states, the Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America. Donated by Governor General Lord Stanley in 1892 for presentation to the top hockey team in Canada, it was first awarded to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association (1892–93).
