KLCFDC seeks new board members
The Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation (KLCFDC) is looking for new board members with specific areas of interest.
The non-profit was founded in 1986 with a mission to create employment through strategic capital investments in small and medium sized enterprises, support entrepreneurs in the development of new, innovative and disruptive technologies, provide innovative business counselling and support opportunities and develop partnerships and dynamic community economic development initiatives in Kawartha Lakes. The KLCFDC is actively recruiting for board directors to join its dynamic KLCFDC team and also serve as board members on its affiliate company, the Kawartha Lakes Business and Community Development Corporation (KL BCDC). The KLCFDC is open to interest from potential candidates on an ongoing basis with a focus on gender diversity and geographical representation across Kawartha Lakes including Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and north west (Coboconk/Norland), north east (Kinmount) or south quadrants (Pontypool/Janetville/Little Britain).
Located at the new Launch Kawartha Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, downtown Lindsay effective November 2022. The Board of Directors meets monthly, on the third Wednesday of the month beginning at 1pm.
Ideal candidates are residents, or work in Kawartha Lakes and have experience in two or more of the following:
- board governance,
- small business operations,
- innovative/disruptive technologies,
- clean tech, green tech
- manufacturing,
- research and development, market development,
- finance/banking and/or
- community economic development
