Kawartha Lakes TravelPlus expands travel boutique
Kawartha Lakes TravelPlus is taking an adventure of their own, developing a creative solution to the challenges COVID-19 has caused their business.
Recently, they redesigned their location to accommodate what they are calling a “travel n’ style” boutique. They hope that this adaptation will help support their operations as they cancel and rebook trips on behalf of their clients.
Kawartha Lakes TravelPlus has operated as a travel agency at the same location since 1965.
Over the decades they have faced a variety of challenges that negatively impacted the travel industry, such as 9/11 and natural disasters of all kinds. These events negatively impacted their clients and business, but according to Janet Brock, owner of Kawartha Lakes TravelPlus, “COVID-19 has had the most debilitating and crippling effect of all.”
Their travel n’ style boutique already features Canadian made, travel durable clothing. Given that travel is largely off limits at this time, they have expanded beyond clothing to include everyday and gift items such as lotions from Walton Wood Farm Bailieboro, Ont. and Barefoot Venus from Kelowna, B.C.
Their office and boutique is located at 35 William Street North, Lindsay.
