Why does the City now have two deputy paramedic chiefs? City explains

Paramedic Services Week is May 26 to June 1 and Kawartha Lakes is excited about promoting the theme “Celebrating Successes.”

“Paramedics provide compassionate medical care for those who call 9-1-1. They also work proactively with our aging population by visiting patients in a non-emergency settings. Public education is another significant role that paramedics play in promoting healthy communities,” said Acting Chief Andrew Rafton.

“The practice of paramedicine provides many challenges, but it also provides many reasons to celebrate, such as helping bring a baby into the world,” Rafton added.

The Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Services team will be celebrating Paramedic Week by hosting a Celebrity Server dinner at Boston Pizza in Lindsay on May 29.

From 5-8 pm, your community paramedics will be hanging up the stethoscope and trying on their server hat. Tn per cent of all food receipts will be donated to Jumpstart to help children in our community be active.
