Kawartha Lakes Food Source fundraises while having a jolly good time at the 14th annual Lindsay Jolly Jog
The 14th annual Lindsay Jolly Jog is hitting the streets on November 18, 2023.
Kawartha Lakes Food Source (KLFS) is excited to kick off the holiday season, with a festive and family-friendly morning that encourages participants to go for a 5 km walk or run around Lindsay, followed by a hot lunch and prize giveaway for those most festively dressed.
The event is held to fundraise for Kawartha Lakes Food Source. The proceeds raised will help those facing food insecurity in the City of Kawartha Lakes this coming holiday season. KLFS provides fresh milk and eggs for food banks, purchases fresh fruit and milk to support student nutrition programs, and supports many other programs designed to get food to those who need it.
Through collecting pledges towards each 5 km walk or run, the KLFS hopes to reach its goal of raising $10,000. Residents are encouraged to sign-up as a participant, or support the KLFS by pledging an amount toward a participant. Registration is free, but the KLFS does encourage financially-able participants to donate $20 or more per participant, as that amount is eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
“We can’t wait for the 14th annual run,” says Heather Kirby, executive director at KLFS. “What could be better than a morning dedicated to raising funds to combat hunger, combined with holiday festivities? Plus, the costumes are always spectacular!”
