Kawartha Lakes businesses get new digital marketing workshops

Kawartha Lakes’ chambers of commerce have collaborated to put together a digital marketing series designed for ‘main street’ business owners.
It’s an opportunity for business owners to get an overview from experts on how to use different tools and tricks to start getting customers from online into one’s actual store.

“Research shows it’s critical for businesses in Kawartha Lakes to understand digital to allow them to keep pace with an evolving economy,” according to Diane Steven, manager, Kawartha Lakes Small Business and Entrepreneurship Centre.
“As customer preferences change and new revenue stream opportunities come up, we want to ensure our business owners feel ready to take advantage of those opportunities,” Steven says.
Even if you’re already doing well as a business, Steven points out that “understanding digital marketing can allow you to keep pace and stay relevant with shifts in customer types and preferences.”
Overall, the series is meant to make business owners more comfortable with understanding, accepting and implementing what they learn.
Steven says there are three key benefits of digital marketing for businesses:
- Gain access to new customers … even if they aren’t local to you.
- Add another revenue stream to your business … even when you sleep.
- Benefit from more effective marketing over traditional channels to a newer demographic
The cost is $100 for all five series, with 20 per cent off for chamber members.
The dates for the workshops are: Nov 6, 13, 20, 27 and Dec 4 from 5-7 pm in various communities.
