Kawartha Climate Club launches climate change presentation at Academy
The Kawartha Climate Club, is a newly formed, small grassroots team focused on increasing awareness of our climate emergency. The Club’s goal is to educate and inspire the Kawartha Lakes community to become part of the solution by making small lifestyle changes that will collectively result in big impact.
On November 21, the Kawartha Climate Club will host an important 1 hour presentation in partnership with the Academy Theatre from 7-8 pm, and are encouraging residents of Kawartha Lakes to attend. This presentation, which is free to attend, will focus on the truth of the climate crisis and how we solve it. Dr. Jeremy Theal and Dr. Joyce Lee, who are Climate Reality Leaders trained by former VP Al Gore, will take the audience through the fundamentals of Climate Change and what we can all do to mitigate it in Kawartha Lakes.
“November 21 marks an extremely important day for Lindsay Ontario to be part of this conversation,” says Robyn James, co-founder of the Kawartha Climate Club. “On this day, all 20,000 Climate Reality Leaders worldwide — all trained by Al Gore — will hold public presentations and conversations about our changing climate.
Lindsay will be part of an important day of global conversations thanks to this event, and we encourage everyone in the community to come for one hour to hear the truth of what is happening to our planet and what each of us can do. Tickets are not required for this event.
The Academy Theatre has generously donated the space for free, however donations to the theatre will be accepted at the event. For more information please visit the Kawartha Climate Club on Facebook or send them an email .
