Join in for #trashtag day to clean up City
The City of Kawartha Lakes and its partners Toward Balance Support Network, City of Kawartha Lakes Environmental Advisory Committee and Environmental Action Bobcaygeon, are launching a city wide initiative designed to take out the trash and make our neighbourhoods clean .
In the process, they will also join a world-wide phenomenon called #trashtag.
On Earth Day a group of community minded residents will collect trash around Bobcaygeon and send selfies with before and after backgrounds to launch #trashtagCKL.
It’s time to clean up the beaches, streets, parks, roads, playgrounds and wild areas. Every time you clean up an area, give yourself a pat on the back, take before and after selfies and submit to #trashtagCKL #trashtag #KawarthaLakes. There are other initiatives by the City and its partners here.
Groups are meeting at the Bobcaygeon Library at 12:30 pm on April 22 to do the launch with a cleanup around the downtown. All are invited to help.
Julia Taylor, owner of Country Cupboard in Fenelon Falls, has pledged a free frozen yogurt for everyone who helps with the clean-up and posts a selfie of the before and after area.
