Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program comes to Lindsay

By Lindsay Advocate

Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region’s Women Build program is back and this year Women Build is partnering with a number of local organizations that provide valuable social housing resources to individuals in our community, with all the accompanying necessary services wrapped around them.

But these organizations are not builders and so Habitat for Humanity and the Women Build Program need your help.

This year’s Women Build partners include the YES Shelter, The Mount, The Daughter Project and our new Lindsay based partner — A Place Called Home.

Every woman has the power to change lives. Women Build is about bringing together strong and empowered local women from all walks of life who want to learn new skills while building their community up. No experience is necessary.

Women from all walks of life in the Lindsay and Kawartha Region are asked to join to help out to build strength, stability, and independence for families in the local community. Women Build promotes empowerment, solidarity, learning, and pride in the community. Women Build celebrates the power of women to be the leaders and transformers of change at the community level.

Women Build Runs from September 3 – October 31.

Sign up as an individual or as a team. Registration is now open for this year’s program: www.habitatpkr.ca/women-build/
