Excuses Excuses to play Lindsay’s Coach and Horses

By Trevor Hutchinson

Up-and-comping alternative/punk band Excuses Excuses will be headlining at the Coach and Horses in Lindsay (16 York St. S.) on Saturday December 22.

The trio (Kyle Weldon -guitar and vocals, Trevor Bowman – bass, and Oakwood native Jason Nicoll – drums) will bring their brand of punk-infused alternative guitar rock to Lindsay in support of their second EP, Catch Me if You Can – which they have been extensively touring since it’s June 2018 release.

This is a band that has an infectious sound (think Green Day, Billy Talent or PUP). They have the energy and swagger to start a conversation and they have the musical chops and songcraft to pull it off. They definitely come across as a fun band (their live shows have been called incendiary) but they use their medium to deliver a message: Excuses Excuses “is driven to empower millennials to find strength in self-expression and individualism, and encourages people to live their lives to the fullest potential in our restrictive, modern society.”

After the holidays, Excuses Excuses will continue bringing their proudly-Canadian variant of third-wave punk to Ontario and eastern Canada with a two month tour in January and February 2019.

For the Lindsay show, Excuses Excuses will be joined by some more incredible local talent: Nathan Truax (country-pop) and Bombshell Deluxe (indie-rock). The show starts at 10 p.m. and there is no cover charge.
