Enbridge Gas expansion to Fenelon Falls a big part of Country Living Show
Enbridge Gas is the title sponsor of the Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show in Fenelon Falls this year, and they have a good reason to be — Enbridge is expanding its services to include Fenelon Falls by next spring.
The gas company is installing a 37-kilometre pipeline to expand its natural gas service area into Fenelon Falls, Cameron, and Cambray.
This is the first community expansion project in almost 10 years. The company says switching to natural gas will help support greater consumer choice, improve economic growth and create new jobs.
Residents will also have the opportunity to fill out a natural gas application and talk to experts at The Country Living Show from April 27-29 at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre.
One of the things Enbridge is bringing is ‘Granny’s House,’ an interactive home display taking visitors back in time. Homeowners can interact with features like an antique thermostat, old insulation, drafty outlets, inefficient windows and learn how switching to natural gas can increase a home’s value and improve your carbon footprint.
Natural gas burns clean and generates less waste and water pollution than other conventional energy sources. The pipeline is expected to be complete by the spring of 2019, at which point Enbridge will give homeowners clearance to stop using their old heating systems and fully switch over to natural gas.
The Granny’s House display joins the “barn and bunkie” spring sale with over 100 booths filled with products and services specifically targeted to the country home, farm, or cottage owner.
