Employer survey open to create data base of workforce needs
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) will be conducting its annual EmployerOne Survey in Peterborough, Northumberland, Kawartha Lakes, and Haliburton.
The survey, open from Jan. 4 to Feb. 26, allows businesses to share information about their specific workforce needs. While there have been multiple provincial and national surveys, this is the only survey providing local information to inform local services.
The 2020-2021 EmployerOne survey will look a little different than in previous years. The WDB has joined with other Local Planning Boards in Eastern Ontario to conduct a common survey. The boards will be working hard to connect with their local businesses to generate a response rate that provides meaningful results locally as well as provide a perspective on workforce development across Eastern Ontario.
With the support of the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, EmployerOne Survey results will be shared with educators, employment support agencies, economic developers, and industry associations to provide a better understanding of occupational shortages, skills in demand and professional development requirements that help shape programming.
More information and a link to the survey is available at www.employeronesurvey.com.
“A big thank you to the employers in our region for taking the time to complete the EmployerOne Survey,” said Jennifer Lamantia, CEO, of Workforce Development Board.
“By sharing your insights and feedback, you are providing timely, relevant and local data that informs the work that we can do together at a local level to help you meet your business goals and to develop and grow the local economy”.
