Eight people needed to serve on city’s growth management task force

The city is seeking eight people from the community to serve on its Growth Management Strategy Task Force until this council’s term ends at the end of 2022.

The new Growth Management Strategy will plan for the city’s population growth, housing and employment needs, and coordinate with infrastructure investments to the year 2051.

The Growth Management Strategy will also establish a foundation for the forthcoming update of the City’s official plan.

The contributions of the task force are critical to the development of a Growth Management Strategy that is representative of the diverse interests of the community.

Members will provide advice on public consultation, and attend meetings and open house events. There are currently eight vacancies, as outlined below.

Applicant eligibility:

  • A resident of the City (own, rent, live in shared accommodation where you do not pay rent or live in the municipality with no fixed address); or
  • An owner of property in the City or a person who rents property in the City, or the spouse of the above; and
  • at least eighteen years of age; and
  • a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada

Applications must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday July 2.
