The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) and Kawartha North Family Health Team (KNFHT) have announced that Dr. Jill Caines will be joining the KNFHT team, in their Bobcaygeon clinic, as of May 15.
Caines attended Mount Saint Vincent University for her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and Carleton University for her Masters of International Affairs. She completed her Medical Degree at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in 2014 and Family Medicine Residency at Queen’s University in 2017.
Caines resides in Lindsay with her husband, Mike Perry, and their two young children. Caines has accepted the practice of Dr. Negin Mastouri who is returning to the Toronto area to practice. Dr. Paul Druzin is also returning to the Toronto area to practice at the end of May.
KLHCI, with KNFHT, are actively recruiting for his replacement. His current patients will become part of Dr. Zung and Dr. Jacob’s practices. “KLHCI would like to sincerely thank Dr. Mastouri and Dr. Druzin for their many years
of care to their patients at the Kawartha North Family Health Team, and are saddened to see them leave. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours”, says Barb van der Veen, KLHCI President.
“The KNFHT is very pleased to have Dr. Caines join our team and we appreciate her acceptance of our patients at the Bobcaygeon clinic”, says Marina Hodson, KNFHT Executive Director.
During this transition the KNFHT will not be accepting any new patients. The KLHCI Board of Directors has representation from throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes. The board is interested in adding new members. Being a member of KLHCI’s Board of Directors is an excellent opportunity to volunteer and be part of this vital component of our community health care, the recruitment and retention of family doctors.
Anyone wishing to be part of this community effort by either volunteering or donating financially to support the ongoing family doctor recruitment and retention programs should contact Cindy Snider, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator at 705-328-6098 or visit the KLHCI website at www.KawarthaLakesDoctors.org.
