Cutting-edge business, products honoured to cap Small Business Week 2019
Three new cutting-edge businesses and products were honoured by the Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation and the Kawartha Lakes Business & Community Development Corporation to cap Small Business Week on Friday.
The event included a presentation by Heather Hallahan from the Business Development Bank of Canada Showcasing the people behind the business featuring a panel of local entrepreneurs including: Ray Denure, Denure Tours; Danielle French, South Pond Farms; Jim Young, Pet Valu and Dan Urquhart, Weedman.
This years’ winners include:
Grand Prize – Servo Socks – Make Stuff Move
A sustainably-manufactured product created to improve access to robotics by simplifying the motorization process, while making it less intimidating and more fun.

2nd Prize – Trybersecurity by Netmechanics
A web-based platform to help small to medium sized businesses perform their own cyber security risk assessments and implement tailored awareness training to staff and management, through “gamified” video learning.
