Community member assists police with drone
On Feb. 2 Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen who had observed, an elderly male walking on the ice with his cane. Police began searching the Lindsay Street North area of the Scugog River where the man was last seen.
Access to the river in the area was blocked, making it difficult for officers to find any trace of the male. While scouring the area police spoke with a very helpful community member, Mr. Scott Moggach who was in the area practicing flying his new drone. Moggach, offered to help and was able to assist officers in locating tracks in the snow, which led police to the male’s residence where he was located safe and sound.
