Christmas bird count for kids at Fleming College

By Lindsay Advocate

Parents, would you like your children to consider post secondary education? Would you like your children to feel closer to nature in these anthropocene times we live in? Would you like your children to experience citizen science?

Would you like your children to see strong role models for post secondary education, having a fascination for nature and a commitment to science? All of the above? Bring them to this family event at the Frost Campus — the Christmas Bird Count for Kids.

Count birds on student-led hikes and enter the results into the free eBird Canada online checklist program. Your children could make a difference to their future world …with the right tools and motivation.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian. Dress for the weather. Hikes are 2 to 3 kms on easy-walking nature trails. Bring binoculars if you have them; there are 12 loaner binoculars and telescopes for shared viewing.

When: Saturday, December 7 meet 9 A.M. in the lobby of the Frost campus main entrance, 200 Albert St S. Lindsay.
