Busy intersection to be directed by KLPS May 9

By Lindsay Advocate

Residents are advised that the traffic lights at the intersection of Kent and Angeline Streets in Lindsay will not be operating on Thursday, May 9 as workers will be rewiring the intersection with aerial wiring to address underground infrastructure. Kawartha Lakes Police Service will be on scene to direct traffic.

This temporary shutdown of the traffic lights is needed to activate the new aerial control, allowing for the traffic lights to work properly.

On April 26, a temporary fix was made to the intersection to allow the traffic lights to operate normally. This work is part of the municipality’s plan to continue the operation of the intersection’s traffic lights in advance of when the intersection will be rebuilt in three years’ time. In 2022, the control will be permanently placed underground.

The City advises extra caution if travelling near or through the intersection.
