A new training program is being launched to assist traditional brick-and-mortar, home-based business owners and not-for-profit agencies in extending their businesses online as an additional revenue stream.
The program is made possible with the support of Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation (KLCFDC) through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF), a project funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
The Storefront to Online (S2O) Program is a free initiative for local business owners and will provide educational webinars, business tools and digital resources directly to the business owner. The program also includes one-on-one coaching to help business owners keep on track to reach their online goals with results in 90 days.
“Sole proprietors, small and medium-sized businesses and social enterprises have been dramatically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic here in Kawartha Lakes,” says Vince Killen, Executive Director, KLCFDC.
“These challenging times have required and sometimes provided opportunities to pivot existing business models, innovate and create new ways of doing business and explore new revenue streams. Training initiatives such as the S2O Program will provide a solid base for local businesses to grow and spur further economic development in our Kawartha Lakes region. The Kawartha Lakes CFDC is proud to support these critical projects and support small business,” says Killen.
The innovative and dynamic training program being delivered by Bob Minhas and his team in Kawartha Lakes expects to assist over 30 businesses during a 90-day period.
Minhas is an authority in providing high performing corporate and entrepreneurial leaders with his Circle of Expert Value system and his first quarter-million-dollar business instructed other experts on HGTV. He has coached over 500 business owners through workshops and private sessions.
Minhas has served as an economic development officer, a small business consultant for multiple communities and a regular speaker and mentor with various post secondary institutions, Chambers of Commerce and Business Improvement Associations.
