Key programs and services at Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes (CCCKL) will benefit from a $50,000 contribution presented to its foundation by the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes.
Through Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund, the Community Foundation provided $45,000 to help fund a new specialized transportation van along with $5,000 through its Bobcaygeon and Area COVID-19 Relief Fund to support hospice services.
The cheque for $50,000 was presented to Community Care Foundation Chair Diane Cairns, CCCKL CEO Barb Mildon and Specialized Transportation Driver Joe Boudreau, by the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes President Mike Perry and Board Member Marlene Morrison Nicholls.
“The Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes is very pleased to have played a role to get funds to help our fellow residents with transportation and accessibility needs as well as grief support,” stated Mike Perry.
“CCCKL is perfectly suited to do this great work as it always has, and will continue to do so.”
“We are deeply thankful for the support we have received from the Community Foundation during this unprecedented time,” says Barb Mildon, CEO, Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes.
“It takes continued generosity from our community partners to make our vision of providing care, comfort and support a reality and we are so thankful for the Community Foundation’s efforts in facilitating these funds and to our own Foundation for their ongoing tireless support.”
