Several non-related calls for service involving domestic animals kept the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service busy this past weekend.

On Saturday May 5 officers attended a public building on Angeline Street north in Lindsay after receiving a report that a stray-cat was wondering in and out of the facility through an automatic door.

Officers were able to find the cat and turned it over to the local Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes.

On Sunday May 6 officers received the report of two horses running along Tracey’s Hill Road in Lindsay.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service attended the area and were able to locate the horse’s owner. Fortunately, the horses were returned to their lodgings without incident.

And later that same day, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service received the report of two dogs running loose in the area of Georgian Street in Lindsay.

With the help of a concerned citizen, the attending officers were able to transport the dogs to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes.

The owner of the stray cat has picked up their animal, but if you believe the two dogs belong to you, contact the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes at (705)878-4618.
