Boys & Girls Club needs volunteers for Shamrock Sprint

By Lindsay Advocate

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes is preparing to host the third annual Shamrock Sprint on March 10. The club is looking for participants to take part in the one km kids’ fun run, the 5 km walk or run and the 10 km run. Volunteers are also needed.

The club is offering a choice of two training and information nights for volunteers on March 7 at 4:30 pm or March 8 at 6:30 pm. Volunteers may choose which night works best for them but they need to attend one of them. It should take less than an hour.

If volunteers are youth the Boys and Girls Club will try to partner them with an adult, so let them know if you fall into this category. Volunteer hours will be signed off on.

Road closures are the majority of volunteer positions so you will need to be prepared for being outside and the weather. If anyone volunteering has access to safety vests the club asks that you bring and wear them while out on the course.

If you are an inside volunteer you will need to be there at 8 am and course volunteers will need to be here by 9 am.

Participants can go here to to register and volunteers can contact Laurie Richards at 705-324-4493 ext 238 or .
