Big Brothers Big Sisters month in September

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton would like to inform everyone that September is Big Brother Big Sister Month right across Canada. Volunteers provide so many opportunities and wonderful new experiences to children through mentoring programs. Their commitment has a huge impact on the community, helping children and youth reach their full potential and make positive decisions that will affect their lives for years to come. It is also the perfect month for people to consider becoming a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton.

Volunteering as a mentor can take as little as one hour a week through the In-School Mentoring program, this program is very easy to fit into a weekly schedule. Volunteers can also choose to be matched with a child through the traditional program and spend 3-4 hours a week in the community, enjoying a variety of activities. There is always a child waiting to meet you!
