Archives wants your pandemic signs, posters

By Lindsay Advocate

The province will begin slowly opening on May 12 and the archives department at the Kawartha Lakes Public Library is asking business owners if they would be willing to donate any signs or posters that were displayed on doors or windows associated with temporarily closing or changed hours during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Send the originals or scanned copies, including business category, the business name (with location and contact information), the names of business owners, and/or any other information you might feel would be of interest, such as who worked for the store, how long they were closed and/or the business logo.

For businesses which remained opened, the archives would be very interested to hear how you adapted to stay open during this time and your experiences.

Items may be sent to Shawnee Haywardlibrary specialist – reference at the Kawartha Lakes Public Library. She can be reached at lindsaylibrary@kawarthalakeslibrary.ca.
