Aggressive ATV incident in Coboconk area

The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate an incident involving an all-terrain vehicle being operated in an aggressive manner in the Coboconk area.

Just before 2 p.m. on May 21 an officer attempted to stop a white Yamaha ATV but the driver sped off at a high rate of speed and the officer did not follow.  The same ATV was observed at 2:40 p.m., again travelling at a high rate of speed and failing to stop for a red light at the intersection of Highway 35 and Kawartha Lakes Road 48.

The ensuing investigation resulted in the driver being identified and charges are pending. The OPP would like to hear from any members of the public who might have witnessed the aggressive driving of this ATV.
