Fatal motor vehicle collision on Portage Road

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision that took place around 12:48 pm on Friday Oct. 24.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Portage Road near Prospect Road. One of the drivers was pronounced deceased on the scene and the other driver was taken to local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Portage Road was closed between Prospect Road and Rockview Road while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
